DAVE CALLARI
Director of Training Education at THE GYM
Welcome to THE GYM of Englewood. My name is David Callari and I am the Director of Trainer Development an Education. Thank you for choosing us, as there are so many options in the fitness industry. We’re happy you’re here.
I have been in this industry since 1999, and my objective in this role of educator and mentor, here at THE GYM, is not only to enhance the skills my team possesses, but to also to enhance the member experience. If I can help elevate my team, I can elevate your time here.
Along with having certifications from NASM and Precision Nutrition, I have had the opportunity to continue my development with some of the industries best educators such as Alan Aragon and Chris Beardsley. If those names aren’t familiar, that’s ok. It’s my job to be the nerd, you’re here to be the recipient of all our hard work.
If you see me on the floor, please come up, say hello and introduce yourself. I’m happy to help, answer any questions and if need be, set you up with one of our excellent Fitness Professionals.
With 25 years of experience, Dave Callari takes a unique, science-driven approach to fitness. In this video, he shares why consistency matters more than perfection and how his research-based methods have clients saying, “Why haven’t I trained like this before?” Discover how to build strength, not exhaustion, and create a balanced routine that works for your busy life.
Strength comes from strategy, not sweat.
If your workouts are making you feel wrecked every day, you’re missing the point.
Exercise isn’t supposed to make you exhausted—it’s supposed to make you strong. Yet, too many people chase fatigue like it’s the goal: more weights, more classes, more burn. But according to Dave Callari, that’s actually preventing progress.
The real secret? Managing fatigue strategically, so your body has the energy to actually improve.
Everything people have been taught to chase—back-to-back classes, endless drop sets, that deep burn—is what’s slowing them down. The harder you push without understanding recovery, the less your body can adapt and grow.
So what’s the better approach?
✅ Work with a professional who understands how to balance intensity and recovery.
✅ Treat yourself with compassion—missing a workout isn’t failure, it’s part of the process.
✅ Focus on building strength, not just burning out.
Because real progress doesn’t come from exhaustion—it comes from smart training.
